The Most Famous Pasta Dishes
- Penne. This is identified by small cylinder shapes, and it comes in a variety of flavors. Egg penne is the most popular, but there are also spinach and tomato flavors at grocery stores. This pasta is particular great in pasta salads, but you can also pour some olive oil on it for a simple dish.
- Orecchiette. It appears no one has a bad word to say about these little curled pasta pieces from Puglia, orecchiette is the best pasta shape of all. This pasta shape has got a great consistency that works very well with vegetables, in particular with cime di rapa, a particular type of broccoli and fresh chilli.

Clams casino is a clam 'on the halfshell' dish with breadcrumbs and bacon. It originated in Rhode Island. It is often served as an appetizer in New England and is served in variations nationally. According to legend, the recipe for clams casino was originally developed in 1917 in the Little Casino in Narragansett.
Did you know there’s a cocktail called casino cocktail? Here’s the recipe:
- 2 oz gin
- 1/4 tsp maraschino liqueur
- 1/4 tsp lemon juice
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 1 cherry
Shake all ingredients (except cherry) with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Add the cherry on top and serve. This is a perfect refreshement between games, or even at a games table. Just remember not to overdo it – after all, you need your brain cells working to keep up with the game!
